• Ensure consistent sprint and SDLC execution.

• Identify risks early and drive corrective actions with Team Leads.

• Act as an escalation point when execution or commitments break down.

• Own org-level code quality tracking and PR discipline.

• Enforce engineering standards and policies.

• Reduce recurring defects, regressions, and avoidable incidents.

• Partner with Team Leads to close quality and process gaps.

• Run independent 1:1s, performance feedback, and improvement plans.

• Conduct people gap analysis and drive upskilling.

• Recommend promotions, role changes, and people risk analysis with clear justification.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Act as an escalation point across Engineering, Product, and Ops.

• Coach Team Leads to push back on unclear or inadequate requirements.

• Escalate risks and alignment issues when needed.

• Communicate clearly with Product and business stakeholders to understand requirements, articulate trade-offs, and align on execution outcomes.

What This Role Is Not

• Not a ticket or Jira manager

• Not a feature-level IC role

• Not a proxy Product Manager

• Not a UAT or release coordinator

What You Bring

Required Experience

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.

• Prior experience as Tech Lead, Module Lead, or Acting Engineering Manager.

• Strong understanding of SDLC, sprint execution, and delivery governance.

• Proven ability to raise code quality and engineering standards.

• Experience managing senior engineers or Team Leads.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage business and product teams, clarify requirements, and communicate execution risks early.

Technical Background: Backend or full-stack experience (C#/.NET, Angular, SQL preferred), with comfort reviewing code and guiding design decisions.
